In Liipa Talu, near Tallinn, the best of the second round of the Estonian Cup in upright street dancing were announced on the last weekend of July.
In addition, something was created on the spot that had never been done before in Estonia. In the street dance battle format, two pairs of competitive dancers – Mark Richard Jürna and Mia Vosman and Aleksander Tuudor Kappet and Elenor Kurisoo (Tantsukool Laguun) – went head-to-head. Once both couples had performed their routines, the judges had to choose the winners based on artistry alone.
The jury for the upright street dances on Saturday was made up of the world-renowned Malkom, Renegade, Alex The Cage and Gemini Lockiano. Estonians won in almost all categories and for the first time there was a showcase competition.
